Frog on a log by Kes Gray

The book is about a frog who doesn’t want to sit on a log because it is too uncomfortable but a cat explains to him why doing the right thing matters even if it is uncomfortable. He implies very strongly that animals should only sit on things that rhyme with them. For example cats sit on mats, cows on plows, parrots on carrots and so on.
They rhyming sounds and the illustrations of animals sitting on funny things really captivated my 3 year old not to mention the surprise ending that was really the best part.
What they learn :

1. The car says doing the right thing is what matters even if it’s uncomfortable and it was a good way to explain how sometimes you should choose to do the right thing even if it’s difficult for you.
2. Lots of simple words like cat, mat, cow for early readers.
3. Rhyming words of course

He throughly enjoyed it and so did I 🙂
